Wellbeing Isn’t a Destination: A Gentle Journey Back to Yourself

With Mental Health Awareness Week approaching,I’ve been reflecting on something I see every day In my work as a holistic therapist, one thing is always clear to me: There is no single way to be “well.”

Each person is constantly unfolding. Learning, unlearning, growing, shifting. Coming home to themselves in their own time, in their own way. And that journey deserves to feel safe.

Because the world outside of us can be… loud. There are expectations around how we should look, what we should have, what we should be striving for. And it’s completely human to be part of that. To want those things. To move through those phases. There is no judgement in that.

Mental Health awareness week . Know ones-self

But alongside it, there is another layer of wellbeing that often goes unnoticed. The quiet, internal relationship we have with ourselves. The part of you that isn’t defined by appearance, success, or status… but by how connected you feel within your own being. And sometimes, when you begin to turn toward that part of yourself, life can feel a little different. Slower. Softer. Simpler. Not always understood by others. And occasionally, even judged.

But this isn’t about choosing one way over another. It’s about becoming aware. Aware of what truly nourishes you. Aware of what feels aligned for you, not just what’s expected. Aware that wellbeing isn’t something you find outside of yourself — it’s something you build a relationship with, over time.

You don’t have to have it all figured out. You simply have to begin noticing…

Who am I beneath all of this?

What do I truly need?

What helps me feel whole?

Because real wellbeing isn’t a destination. It’s an ongoing discovery. And this is the space I aim to hold in my work. A space where you don’t have to have the answers. Where you’re not expected to be anything other than who you are in that moment. Where you can gently explore, unfold, and reconnect with yourself — in your own time, in your own way.
